The Commission met in regular session at 10 A.K. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call showed the following offi~ers present: J!.ayor Beetle, Commisoioners Beam and Lind, Acting Attorney Taylor and Clerk Hawkins. The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of Applications for Building rermits the following were granted: B. V. !)ecker, Build Garage, Lot 7, Bloc!: 99, townsite Harold Brown, Build Garage, Lot 5, Block 65, Lewis & Mastick Subd. 100.00 125.00 Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolutions were introduced: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the same by Treasurer's Deed dated July 1, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit: The East 24 feet of Lot 'IWenty-two (22) and the West 25 feet of Lots Twenty-three (25), Twenty':'four (24), Twenty-five (25) and Twenty-six (26) of Block One (1), together with that portion of tne vacated alley in said Block One (1) lying be- tween said Lot 22 and said Lots 25, 24, 25 and 26, all in Cain's Subdivision of Suburban Lot 18, of the City of Port Angeles according to tne Plat tIlereof re- corded in Volume 2 of Plats, page 68 of the records of Clallam County, Washington, and WHERE:AS, A. H. Knudson has offered to purcnase the above described real property from the City of Port Angeles for the sum of $250.00, and WHEREAS, The City Commission hss viewed the said property and is of tile Opl.ll10n that the offer is fair value and is in excess of the amount paid by tne City for said property, plus all Ll.D. assessments, including interest and other charges against the same, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RilSOLVED, that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Jingeles sell the said property at private sale to the said A. H. Knudson for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the samej that tne City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed . conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and ne is hereby'instructed to execute said quit claim deedJ and that the Mayor of tne City of Port .tIlngeles be and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed. It was 'moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Comnis sioner Lind. On roll call allmembers voted aye. The Mayo r declared the motion carried. RESOLU1'I011 WHEREASJ l'he City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property J having acquired the same by Treasurer's deed dated October 51, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 , of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of tile Laws of 1929J page 565, to-wit: r Lot Thirteen (15), Block One Hundred Fifty-two (152), of the Townsite of Port , Angeles, Washington, and I WHEREAS, Ed G. Reed has offered to purcnase from the City of Port Jilngeles the above described real property' for tne sum of $45.00, payable as follows: $20.00 as a down payment andl?lO.oo on or before the 14th day of February, 1941, and $10.00 on or before the 14t1l day of May, 1941, and the balance of $5.00 on or before the 14th day of August, 1941. Interest to be computed at the rate of 7% per annum on the balance due and paid with each installment, and WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the Op1ll10n tnat the offer is fair value and that at this time it is the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale made, NOW, TH~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said Ed G. RESOlUTION WHEREAS, The City of Port ~geles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the same by Treasurer's deed dated October 7, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Cnapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to~vit: Lot Eleven (11), Block Four Hundred Fourteen (414) of the Townsite of Port Angeles, Washington, and WHEREAS, Eva Miller has offered to purchase the above described real property from tne City of Port Angeles, for the sum of $55.07, and WHEREAS, The City Comnission has viewed the property and is of the opinion that the of fer is fai.r value and is in excess of the amount paid by tile City for said property, plus all L.LD. assessments, including interest and other charges against the sameJ NOW, THEREFOREJ BE IT RES~VED that said offer be accepted and that tne City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private s81e to tne said Eva Miller for the sum herejnabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against. the same, that the 'City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quitclaim deed conveying said property to tho purchaser, and that the City Clerk of tile City of Port Angeles be and ne is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angelee be and he is hell"eby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed. RESOLUTION To Sell Property Acquired qy Foreclosure WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described property in the City of Port Angele s, to-wit: An undivided one-half interest of The East 18 2/5 feet of the South ISO feet of Lot Ten (10) and the West 15 1/5 feet of the South 150 feet of Lot Nine (9), all in Block One (1) of Tidelands West of Laurel Street in front of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, except the South 10 feet thereof included in Front Street, which said property nas been acquired qy the City on foreclosure of delinquent local improvement assess- ments under Chapter 205 of the Session Laws of 1927, and WHEREAS, the Syleon Corporation has offered to purcnase the above described real property from the City of Port ~.ngeles for the sum of li1250 .00, payable as follows: $500 .00 as a down payment and $25.00 on or before the 20tll day of December, 1940, and $25.00 on or before the 20th day of each and every month thereafter until paid in full. Interest to be computed at the rate of 7% per annum on the balance due and paid with the monthly installments, and WHEREAS, the City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value and that at this time it is to the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and tne sale mede. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said Syleon Corporation for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the samej that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and the City Treasurar be authorized to execute the said deed in accord- ance witn the provisions of this resolution and Chapter 275, Session Laws of 1927, when the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full. It was moved by COll!llissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Under the head of New Business: It appearing that ~ity Street Fund Warrant No. 1920, for $100.00, issued September 4, 1940, to the Washington Asphalt Company, has been lost and ca~~ot be produced by the said company, and it further appearing further that the said company nas made application to have a duplicate warrant issued in lieu of said lost City Street Fund warrant, ~o. 1920, and has filed a good and sufficient bond, duly approved qy the City Attorney to protect the City from loss on account of issuing tne said duplicate warrant. The Com- mission therefore, approved the bond and instructed the City Clerk to issue a duplicate warrant in the sum of $100.00 to the Washington Aspnalt Company in lieu of City Street FUnd Warrant, No. 1920.
