Proceedings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington

The Commission met in regular session et 10:00 A.M. and was called to order by Mayor Robinson. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Robinson, Commissioners Beam and Masters, Attorney Johnston
and Clerk Hawkins.
The ~inutee of the previous session were rea,d. and approved.
Under the head of applications for Building Permits the following were granted:
Dan Smock, Remodel Bldg., Lot 17, Blk 40 N.R. Smith Subd.
Owens' Bros., Move Houee on Lot 18 & wt 19, Block 4, Cam's $ubd of 18

Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions, the following Resolutions were introduced:

RESOLUTION
'WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the follOlling described real property, having ecquired
the ssme by Treasurer's Deed, dated November 24, 1944, under and by virtue of the authority of Section
9393, of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Lot Twelve (12) Block One Hundred Ninety-One (191)
Townsite of Port Angeles, Washington
; WIlI!:REA$ Ernest R. McKn:leht and Erma T. McKnight, husband and wife, have offered to purchasa the above
I described real property from the City of Port Angeles for the sum of liloo.oo, and
WHEREAS, The City Commission has vbwed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and at this time it is the best intereet of the City that it should be accepted and the sale made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the said otter be accepted and thst the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Ernest R. McKhight and Erma T. McKnight for the sum hereinabove
set forth, subject to afQ' other valid liens against the samei that the City Attorney be inatructed to
prapare a quit claim deed conveying aaid property to the purchaser, that the City Clerk of the City of
Port Angeles be and he ie hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the
" City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed, when the purchase
price and all accrued interest thereon hae been paid in full.
Passed by the City Commission and signed by the Mayor thia 29th day of November 1944.
It was moved by Commissioner Bean that the foregoing Resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Ii Commissioner Masters. On roll call all members voted Aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is desirous of p1rchasing Lots.Five (5) and Six (6), Block Two Hundred
Thirty-six (236), of the Townsite of Port Angeles, to be devoted to park purposes, or such other purposes
,: as the City Commission may dllsignats and determine, snd
WHEREAS, it hsa been determined that said property may be purchased for the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00)
dollars. That said property ia owned by the Colonial Trust CompafQ', a corporation, of Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, as trustees under the Will of Lorenzo W. Swope, Deceased, and
WHEREAS, the Wsshington Title Insurance CompafQ' has issued its policy No. 11-3756, insUriIlg the City of
Port Angeles as the owner of.said property, and said property is worth the amount asked therefor. to-wit, I
Three hundred ($300 .00) dollars

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said City is hsreby authorized to accept a conveyance at said
property and is authorized and directed to pay tha owner, or the agent ot the ~er. Thomas T. Aldwell and I
Compan.y. the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) dollars for said conveyance.
THE foregoing resolution duly adopted this 29th day of November, 1944.
It was moved by Ccmmiseioner Mastsrs that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
II Commilsioner Beam. On roll call all members voted Aye. The Mayor declaredtha motion carried.
Under the head of Introduction of Ordinances the following Ordinance was introduced, read in full and
passed its 1st and 2nd readings:
An Ordnance amending Ordinance No. 1126 of the City of Port Angeles adopted by the City Commission on
'I May 17, 1944, regulating and licensing the business of distributing and exhibiting certain amuselpemt
devices.

The City Clerk reported that pursuant to the published call for bids for the purchase of two trucksr'and
lone garbage and rubbish collector for use in the Garbage Department, that six bids on trucks and four
,', bida on the garbage and rubbish collector had been received.
The Commission opened the bids aOO they were referred to the City l>ngineer for checking.
The Commission then adjourned to meet at 4:00 P.M.
