I CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Duncan called the meeting to order at 7:04 P.M.

Members Present: Mayor Duncan, Councilmen Gerberding, Haguewood, Hordyk,
Quast, Whidden.
Members Absent:
Councilman Polhamus.
Staff Present:
Manager Flodstrom, Attorney Knutson, R. Orton, P. Carr,
J. Pittis, K. Ridout, D. Warner.
Public Present:
C. Whalley, C. Hulse, S. Fahnestock, B. LaRue, D. Moe,
D. MacDonald.

VII LEGISLATION
Mayor Duncan called for Item 4 on the Agenda.
4. Report from Citizens for a Port Angeles Convention Center
Clint Hulse of the Citizens for a Port Angeles Convention Center addressed
the Council. He informed the Council of a meeting December 5th regarding
options on the proposed convention facility.

Public Hearing.
A. 1984 preliminary Revenue Sharing Budget.
Mayor Duncan opened the public hearing. Manager Flodstrom addressed the
Council on the proposed 1984 Revenue Sharing Budget. A total of $240,000
in funds is available to the City. Mayor Duncan then asked for comments
from the audience.
David Moe, 1230 Caroline, stated that he favored an appropriation of
$125,000 to $150,000 rather than the $12,500 in the preliminary budget for
a covered tennis facility at Erickson Playfield. There were no further
comments from the audience and Mayor Duncan closed the public hearing.
2. Presentation of 1984 preliminary Budgets - Current Expense Fund
The Council then received the budget presentation from the following Cur-
rent Expense funded Departments: Ci ty Council, City Manager, General
Administration, Administrative Services, Planning, Public Works Administra-
tion, Engineering and Street Maintenance.
3. Consideration of Council Action on Termination or Renewal of the Local
Option Sales Tax
Councilman Quast moved to defer the automatic termination of the half-cent
sales tax until March 1, 1984. Councilman Whidden seconded. On call for
the question, Councilmen Whidden, Quast and Gerberding voted "Aye" and
Councilmen Haguewood and Hordyk voted "No". The motion carried.
VIII ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Duncan adjourned the meeting at 10:40 P.M.
