P'14iM ~ The City Council met in regular session at 7:30 p.m. Officers present were Mayor Willson, Council. men Maxfield, ~horne, Cornell, Wolfe, Bettger and Schroeder; Manager Herrman, Attorney Moffett and Clerk McNeece. A motion by Councilman Wolfe that minutes of the previous meeting be approved as received was ,seconded by Councilman Schroeder and carried. I liA motion was made by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried, that the Claimsl be approved for payment in amounts of: General Funds, $25,178.48; Water Fund, $5,573.85 - warrantd! No. 12503 - 12509 and Light Fund, $80,015.79 - warrants No. 13037 - 13059, a total of $110,758.13. I The following ordinances were introduced and read in full: ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles adopting a Uniform Housing Code. A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Thorne and carried, to pass the first reading of the foregoing ordinance and re-submit this ordinance at the next regular Council meeting for final passage. (The City Manager explained that the Uniform Housing Code deals pri- marily with the older buildings.) ORDINANCE NO. 1545 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles amending Sections 21.A.l and 21.A.2 of the City Code of the City of Port Angeles with reference to Uniform Sign Code. A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Wolfe and carried, that the fore- going ordinance be adopted as read. ORDINANCE NO. 1545 AN,ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles amending Sections 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4 of the City Code of the City of Port Angeles with reference to buildings. A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, that the foregoing ordinance be adopted as read. ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE fixing rates and charges for sewer service, providing for penalties and liens and creating a Sewer Fund. A motion was made by Councilman Bettger, seconded by CounciL~an Maxfield and carried, to pass the first reading of the foregoing ordinance as read. 'A memorandum regarding raising rate for water sold to Clallam County PUD was read and tabled for further study. A memorandum regarding admission tax was tablcd for further study. The application for variance to install mobile home at 315 W 2nd Street was withdrawn-the committe made no investigation. A motion was made by Councilman Schroeder, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, that the application for transfer of liquor license from Clinton Haury and Samuel J. Patterson to Jack Del Guzzi, Lee Hotel, be approved. A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Thorne and carried,to approve as received the Monthly Budget Report of Receipts, Fire and Recreation Dept. monthly reports and the reports on out of town trips by Marguerite Miller and Kristi Morrish. Councilman Cornell, with the other Councilmen concurring, commended the swimming instructors for the fine job they are, doing and called attention to a complimentary letter to the editor about the pool operation. iA motion was made by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, that the City Manager be instructed to attend the Wash. State Mgrs. Assn. meeting in Richland, Wash. on Dec. 10 and n, 1954. To the request of Mrs. Van Brocklin (for a client) for tap in on the main water llne approxlffiatel one and one half miles from Morse Creek Dam, it was pointed out that the Clty could not grant thls l request as they are not allowed tosell'untreated water for domestic use. Other subjects of discussion were the Civil Defense Report for November, a letter glving names of city employees who attended a radiological monitoring class, electrical radlo interference causes and locations, dumping of garbage on Fifth St. fill and street easements and water llne lnstallatlo above the Boulevard.
