The purpose of this meeting was to hold a public hearing on the 1979 Preliminary Budget. II ROLL CALL Members Present: Mayor Haguewood, Councilmen Anderson, Buck, Duncan, Hordyk, Wray. Members Absent: Councilman Boardman. Staff Present: Manager Whorton, Attorney Walrath, Deputy Clerk Caso. J. Honnold, M. Cleland, K. Cameron, R. Orton, D. Flodstrom, D. Frizzell, P. Carr. III MINUTES Suspended. IV LEGISLATION 1. PUBLIC HEARING: 1979 PROPOSED BUDGET The public hearing was opened for audience participation by Mayor Haguewood. Local agencies whose 1979 budget requests were subject to review at this public hearing were the Chamber of Commerce, the North Olympic Library System, Traffic School, Public Defender, Clallam County Humane .Society, Clallam County Alcohol Rehabili- tation Center, and Offender Services. The Council, taking each agency separately, discussed with each agency representative the amount of funds requested for 1979 and the amount recommended. Following these discussions, Mayor Haguewood requested comments from the public or staff on the proposed 1979 budget. Subjects discussed included a proposed Park and Recreation Department study on payment of operational costs by users of community provided facilities, the lighting of Shane Park, changes in the budget to be considered at the December 19, 1978 Council meeting, and possible City support of a Health Department clinical nurse. There were no further comments and the public hearing was closed. V AD30URNMENT The meeting adjourned at 8:35 P.M. to an Executive Session. City Clerk May r
