Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Gommissioners Lutz and Masters, Attorney Plummer and "lerk Hawkins. The matter of awarding the cDntract for the construction of the 8th Street Bridges over Valley and Twnwater Creek Gulohes came up for consideration and the following resolution was introduoed: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID ON EIGHTH STREET BRIDGES WHEREAS At,the regular meeting of the Ci tyCommiss,ion held on November 27, .1935, the bids for'the bridges on Eighth Stree~ in Eort Angeles (Public Works Administration project No. 1245 for Washington) were duly an.d regularly opened, and the "ngeles Gravel and Supply @ompal\Y of Port Angeles, 'iashington, was the lov.est and best bidder for said work, and iVHEREAS, The officials of the federal Government and Public Works Administration have w1thdl'awn all objections to the said project and the '"'tate Direotor of the Public Works Administr~tio.n has advised the City Officials to proceed to execute contract with the successful bidder for said work, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the "ity of Port angeles, all meml1ers being present, that the bid of the Angeles Gravel and Supply V omp any , made and heretofore fillld, be and it is hereby accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City ~lerk of the ~ity of Port Angeles be authorized and instructed to execute the cClntract for said work on behalf of the C>1ty of Port Angeles as soon as the oDntractor shall have filed its bond in the sum and in trot form and manner required by the provisions of the contract and specifications. It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by ,.ommissioner Lutz. On roll call all members voted aye. '~he Mayor declared the mot~on carried. The Commission instructed the "ity Clerk to return all certified checks and deposits of bidders on the oonstruction of the Eighth Street Bridges over Valley and Tumwater Creek Gulohes, as soon as the contractor's b~nd is filed and approved and the contractor duly qualified. The City Clerk presented to the City Gommission a letter from the Washington Pulp and Paper Corporation acknowledging the notice of the Vity of Part Angeles to move their transmission lines from Eighth and Valley Streets during the construction of the Eighth Street Bridges, the suggested route being as follows: I T~ning westerly at the intersection of Valley Street with the alley between Eighth and Ninth Streets, thenoe along said alley to the east margin of Pine Street, thence northerly on Pine Street to the alley between Eigh th and Seventh Streets, thence easterly on said alley to Valley Street. The suggested route for re-rou ting lines from Valley "treet during suoh cons truc- tion was approved by the City Commission, and the ~ity Glerk was instrumted to write to the Company approving the proposed route, and notifying the "ompany that the contract had been let, and requesting them to start work at once on said changes.
