Proceedings of tbe City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Wasbington

The Collllliasion met in reguhr session at 10 A.II. and was caDe d to order by Aayor Robinson. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Robinson, Collllllissioners Beam and IIasters, Attorney Johnston
and Clerk Hawkins.
The minutes of t he previous meeting were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Pe:nnits snd Licenses ths following were granted:
Arthur Aggergaard, Addition to house, Lot 10, Block 3, Subd. af Sub. Lot 17
Charles Faussett, Re~ild House, Lot 17, Block 131, Townsite
Leo Fernandes, Rough in Shed, Lot 16, Block 41 N.R. Smith Subd.

Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution Was introduced:
RESOLUTIOlI
WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's Deed dated November 24, 1943, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9393
af Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to_it:
Lot Thirteen (13), Block One Hundred Nine (109), of the Townsite of Port
Angeles, Washington, llDCl
WHEREAS, Knute Donnn has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles for the sum of $150.00, payable as follows: $100.00 as ad Olm ""ymeat and $10.00 on or befon the
5th day of February, 1944, and $10.00 on or before the 5th day of each and every month thereafter until
paid in full, together with interest st the rate of 7% per annum on month17 balmces and paid with the
monthly installment, and
WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and that at this time it is to the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and th! sale
made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said offer be accepted and that the City of Pert Angeles sell the seid,
property at private sale to the said Knute Dorum for the sum hereinabovs set forth, subject to any other
valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying
said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby
instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the lIaytlr of the City of Port Angeles be and he is
hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued interest
, thereon has been paid in full.
It Was moved by Commissioner l\asters that the foregoing reeoluticn be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye. The J.layor declared the motion <carried.
The following resolution was adopted by the City Commission and signed by the MajOr on November 24, 1943,
and is now entered in the records as of this date,
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Conunission of the City of Port Angeles in reguhr session this 24th day of
November, 1943, that;
WHEREAS, United States of America, a cting through tha War Deparbnent, proposes to lay a cable within the
city limits of Port '.ngeles along the North side of Lauridsen Boulevard froDl the Westerly city limits to
Washington Street, Northerly along Washington Street to First Street and Easterly on First Street to the
Easterly end of the city limits;
AND WHEREAS, the occupance of said streets for said purposes is necessary for the useof the said Government
and;
WHEREAS, the said City of Port Angeles does consent that said cable may be laid along said streets under
certain conditions;
NOW, THEP.EFORE, BE IT RESOI.VED by the said City COItIlllission that consent is hereby granted to the said
United States of America to lay a cable line and that the location and construction of the excavation for
8aid cable shall be subject to the approval of the City Engineer and that the said United ,States of
America will assume all responsibility for any damage, and to immediately repair same and any injury or
other liability arising by reason thereof.
That subsequent to the completion of said project that the City Commission will execute an Easement
prepared to its satisfaction and embodying the subject hereof.
It os moved by Commissicner J.lasters that the foregoing resclution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Mayor Robinson. On roll call all members voted aye. The llayor declared the motion carried.
RESOWTION
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles in regular session this 6th day of
December, 1943, that;
WHEREAS, United states of America, acting through the War Department, proposes to lay a cable within the
city limits of Port Angeles aloll/! the West side of South Laurel Street extending from Lauridsen Boulevard
in a Northerly direction to the alley between East .Fourth and East Fifth Street and located near the East
edge of the concrete sidewalk as now existing dong Laurel Street;
AND WHEREAS, the occupance of said streets for said purposes is necessary for the use of the said Govern-
Dlent and;
WHEREAS, the said City of Port Angeles does consent that said cable may be laid along said streets under
certain conditiona;

NOW, THEREFOIE, BE IT RESOLVED by the said City Colllllissicn that consent is hereby granted to the said
, United States of America to lay said cable line and the t the location and construction of the Excavation
II for said cable shall be subject to the approval of the city engineer and that the said United St<ltes of

The United States Army Engineers presented to the City Conmiaaion a license for approval and execution, I
granting the GoverJllllent the right to construct, operate, maintain and renew an open ditch along Lauridsen I
Boulevard, beginning at a point on the east boundary line of Section 1 Twp. 30 N .R. 7 West of W.Il.., running
thence westerly along said Lauridsen Boulevard to Dry Creek.
Under the head of Nf!JIl' Business:
It was moved by Commissioner Ilasters that the said license be approved and that the Mayor be instructed
to execute the said license on behalf of the City. Seconded by Commissioner Beam. On roll call all
members voted aye. The lIayor declared the motion carried.
