The Commission met in regular_ session at 10:00 and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call showed
the following officers present: Mayor Beetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, Attorney Co~~iff and Clerk
Hawk ins .
The minutes of t he previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Licenses the following were granted:
Doris Bailey, Restaurant, Annex Cafe

Under the head of Unfinished Business:
The bid for the alteration of certain rooms in the Fire Department Building, opened December 3, 1940, and
entered on page 359 of this journal, came up for further consideration. It was moved by Mayor Beetle that
the contract be awarded to Wm. Gorsegner for the sum of $1O~3.75. Motion seconded by Commissioner Lind.
On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion oarried.
Under t he head of New fusinesl;:
Hugh S. Florence, having assigned his interest in and to Lots 5 & 6, Block 324, Townsite of Port Angeles,
to Frank D. Florence, requested in ~iting that when the contract of sale is completed, the deed be issued
to the said Frank D. Florence. The sale of the above described property was authorized by resolution
dated December 27, 1939, and recorded in Vol. 20, page 118 of Conrnissioners' Proceedings. There being no
objections the City Clerk was instructed to issue the deed to said property to Frank D. Florence as
requested, when all the terms of the sale are completed.
Under the head of Introduction of Ordinances the following ordinance was introduced, read in full and
placed on its first and second readings: -
AN ORDINANCE setting forth an emergency affecting the public health and safety; requiring expenditures
unforeseen; providing for the issuance of emergency warrants; and declaring an emergency making the ordi'-
nance immediately effective.
The Com:nission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for same:
