The Commission met in regular Session. Mayor Davis oalled the meeting to order. Roll call showed the following offioers present; Mayor Davis ,Commissioners Beam and Filion, Attorney Plummer and Clerk Hawkins. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for same. Ralph E.Davis, Mayor Elect, Sam J.Lutz and Dave A.Masters, Commissioners eleot, weresworn into offioe for the ensuing term. The following resolution was intDoduoed: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Messrs., R.E.Davis, Sam J.Lutz and DA.Maeters, who were elected at the General Municipal Eleotion held in Port Angeles on December 2,1933, to serve as Mayor and City Commissioners respectively, of the City of Port Angeles for the ensuing term of three years, and WHEREAS, said persons have taken their oath and their bonds have been apprcved and riled as re~uired by statute, and said persons have complied with all other re~uirements of law, and WHEREAS, it is re~uired as a part of the duties of the said Commission to meet on the second Monday af$er said election and organize the City Commission and assign to the various commissioners the departments of the oity business as provided by statute and ordinance, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the members of the City Commission be and said members are hereby assigned to the supervision and duties of the following departments as defined by statute and ordinances : I 1. R.E.Davis, as Mayor, be and he is hereby assigned to the supervision of the Depart- ment of Publio Safety as provided by statute and ordinance of the City of Port Angeles. 2. That Commissioner, Sam J.Lutz, be and he is hereby assigned to the supervision of the Department of Finanoe and Accounts, as Commissioner of Finanoe and Accounting, in accordance with ordinanoes of the City of Port Angeles. 3. That Commissioner, D.A.Master, be and he is hereby assigned to the supervision of the Departmerlt of Streets and Public Improvements, as Commissioner of streets and Publio Improvements; in aooordance with the ordinances of the City of Port Angeles. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said Mayor and City Ccmmissioners be and said persons are hereby authorized to prooeed with the supervision of the respective departments in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington and the ordinances of the City of Port Angeles: It was moved by Mayor Davis that the foregojng resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Lutz. On roll oall all members voted Aye. The Mayor deolared the Motion oarried. Commissioner of Finanoe Lutz, submitted the appointment of N.M.Hawkins as City Clerk. It was moved ,by Mayor Davis that the foregoing appointment be confirmed. Seconded by Commissioner ,Masters. On ,Roll oall all members voted Aye. The Mayor deolared the Motion oarried. Gommissioner of Streets and Public Improvements Masters, submitted the appointment of H.E.Dodge as City Engineer and Street SUperintendent. It was moved by 1~yor Davis that . the foregoing appointment be confirmed, seconded by Commissioner Lutz. On roll call all members vote~ Aye. The Mayor declared the Motion carried. Mayor Davis submitted Robert Banderob C.A.Wolverton Thos. Geisness Frank L:Plummer Will H. Taylor the following appointments: - Chief of P~lice Department - Chief of Fire Department - Police Judge - City Attorney - Health Officer It was moved by Commissioner Lutz that the foregoing appointments be oonfirmed, Seconded by Commissioner Masters.
