I The Commission met in regular session at 10:00 A.M., and was called to order by /.!ayor Epperson. Roll call

Under the head of unfinished business, bids to furnish gasoline and diesel oil to the City for the year
1948 were opened as follows: Shell Oil Co., gas, 20.6~ and 18.6~; fuel oil, at posted price; Richfield Oil
Co., gas. 20.6~ and 18.6~, fuel oil at posted price; Associated Oil Co., posted price at time of delivery;
General Petroleum Corp., 22.1~ and 20.1~, all tax included; Standard Oil Co., 20.E~ and 18.6~. It was
decided to file all bids far further consideration until the next session.
Owens Brothers requested in writing that the City Co~ission consider vacation of Victoria Street from
Chase Street to Peabody Street, and Chase Street from Front Street to Railroad Avenue. The Commission
decided to investigate and discuss at later date.
A letter signed by Albino Casilio and Bessie Malesky was read before the Commission. The taxi owners
suggested that their licenses be reduced from $50.00 and $25.00 to $25.00 and $10.00. It was moved by
Commissioner Steele that the suggestion should not be accepted. Seconded by ~~ayor Epperson. All members
, voted Aye. Motion carried.
Under the haad of introduction and reading of ordinances, the following was placed on first and second
reading:
ORDINAI.CE NO. 1191
An Ordinance setting forth an emergency affecting the public health and safety; requiring expenditures
unforeseen; providing for the issuance of emergency warrants; and declaring an emergency, making the
ordinance immediately effective.
It was moved by Commissioner Johnsen that the foregoing ordinance be passed first and second reading.
Seconded by Mayor Epperson. All voted Aye. Motion carried.
