The Commission met in regular session at 10 A.~. and was called to order b.f ~or Beetle. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Beetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, Attorney Conniff and
Clerk HaVlkinB.
The minutes of t he previous session were read and ap;:>roved.
Under the head of Applications far Building Permits the following were granted:
Oliver Guy, Jr., Remodel Building, Lot 2, Block 16, N. R. Smith Addition
O. L. Harris, Remodel Dwelling, Let 17, Block 170, Tovnsite

Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances the fOlloVling ordinances were read by title and placed
on their third readlllgs and finally passed and adopted:
AN ORDINANCE relating to the use of electric current fUrnished and distributed by the City of Port Angeles
and prescribing and fixing charges and rates for the sale of same; prescribing certain duties of the
Superintendent of Utilities; providing for the tennination of service for non-payment of electric current
used; authorizing the Superintendent of Utilities, subject to the approval of and condirmation by the City
Conmission, under certain circumstances,: to make special rates to individual custom'9rs; repealing ordinance
No. 913, Ordinance No. 977, Ordinance No. 1028 and Ordinance No. 1056, and amending ~ections 17 and 20 of
OrdinpJlce No. 890; providing far and declaring an emergency; placing this ordinance in full force and
effect after its la\7ful publication.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing ordinance be placed on its final reading and adapted.
Seconded by Commissioner Lind. On roll call all nembers voted aye. The kayor declared the motion carried.
AN ORDINA1;CE relating to rates and service charges for the use of water supplied by the City; repealing
Ordinances No. 867, No. 976, No. 983 and No. 1057; amending Sections 14, 39 and 40 of Ordinance No. 778;
and providing for and declaring an emerGency.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregolllg ordinance be placed on its final reading and adopted.
Seconded qy Co~~ssioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.

Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the fallowing resolution Vias introduced:
RESOI,UTION
TO SELL PROPERTY ACiJ/IRED BY FORECLlISURE
WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following desoribed property in the City of Port
Angeles, to-wit:
The North 120 feet of Lot One (1) and the North 120 feet of the East half of Lot
Two (2), Block One (1), of Tidelands West of Laurel Street in front of the City
of Port Angeles, Washington,
which said property has been acquired by the City an foreclosure of delinquent local improvement assess-
ments under Chapter 205 of the Session Laws of 1927, and
1I1lERUS, William Gorsegner has offered to ;:>urchase the above described real property from the City of Porl I
IAngeles far the sum of $2,750.00, ;:>ayable as fallows: $275.00 as a down payment and $25.00, inclUding
interest, on or before the 19th day of January, 1941, and e25.00, including interest, on or before the 191h
day of each and every month thereafter until paid in fUll, and I
WHEREAS, It is fUrther agreed and understood that the said William Grosegne will construct a ce~ent side- '
walk on the East side of said property on Laurel Street beginning at lRailroad Avenue and running thence
south along the East line of said property 120 feet, said sidewalk to be constructed on specifications
fUrnished by the City fugineer and completed on or before six months from the date of this resoluUon, and

WHEREAS, The City COlMlission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair valu~
and is in excesS of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.LD. assessments, including
interest and ather charges against the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the I
said property at private sale to the said William Gorsegner for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to
any valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a deed conveying said
property to the purchaser, and the City Treasurer be authorized to execute the said deed in accordance
with the provisions of this resolution and (;hapter 2-75, Session Laws of 1927, when the purchase price and
all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full.
It was ~oved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded qy
Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
The Commission then adjourned to meet at 10 A.M. an Thursday, Dec~ber 26J 1940.
