It was understood that one company is holding motors in stock pending outcome of crusher bid, but others would have to order with no \guarantee of delivery date, the most definite being eight to twelve weeks. The time of delivery by 'l~estinghouse Electric was fixed at 24 weeks. Dates of delivery will be more definite when bids for motors are opened at the next session. Commissioner Taylor informed that the Rayonier Mill has a suitable motor available which they will loan temporarily, also the Electric Company. Also that nothing is definite as to availability of power equipment enabling operation by March 1st, but if the City is going to have a street program, the same should get started. It was the opinion of Mr. Taylor that as the material in the City pit is suitable for which it is to be used, it is proper for the City to make contemplated investment. This was also recommended by F. C. Strange, chairman of the Planning Commission. Mr. Northup, representative of Clyde Equipment Company informed that since bids were opened, prices have advanced 5% and that if, the City did not purchase the crusher now available, but called bids at later date, prices would no doubt further advance with no definite date of delivery. I Commissioner Taylor recommended that the City accept the bids for crusher and accessories as further extension of time could not be expected. It was then moved by Commissioner Taylor that the bids be awared to Clyde Equipment Compal\Y and Washington Machinery and Storage Company as submitted. Seconded by Mayor Feeley. All voted Aye. Motion carried. Bids to furnish fuel oil for the city buildings were submitted as follows: Shell Oil Company, P.S. 200 "Furnace Oil," posted price less $.006; City Fuel Company, P.S. 200 @ posted or at present, $.121 per gaL, P.S. 300 post price or $.0816 per gal.; Allan Distributing Company, Mobileheat #100 (P.S. 100) $0.136 per gaL, Mobileheat #200 (P.S. 200) $.121 per gal., deliveries of 400 gallons or more and prices not maximum; Peninsula Fuel Company, P.S. 300 @ $3.436 per bbl., P.S. 200, $.121 per gal. posted price but not to exceed quotations. If aw~d contract will transfer diesel fuel from diesel plant tank to City Hall tank @ $.01 per gallon. It was moved by Mayor Feeley that the bid by E. A. Jensen of the Shell on Company to furnish P.S. 200 (Furnace on) at posted price less $.006 per gallon be accepted and that the bid submitted by Peninsula Fuel Company for P.S. 300 @ $3.436 per bbl. with transfer clause be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Taylor. All voted Aye. Motion carried. The bid by McMahan Fuel Company having arrived in the second mail delivery at 10: 55 could not be considered. Commissioner Taylor discussed the two water vouchers for transite water pipe. It appeared that pipe ordered' in August had not been shipped until later date bringing two orders together and beth were in same shipment. The material being of two individual orders, the same was approved for payment. Commissioner Taylor infonmed that letters from the Industries are filed, wherein the same agree to re-imburse the City for cost of Ediz Hook project. The matter was referred to the City Attorney to ascertain if an I Emergency Ordinance is necessary to pay the Contractor. Under the head of new business, Lee Hodson, City Librarian, requested in writing that the following transfer~ be made in the Library Budget: From Binding To Repairs $56.00 !
