HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 12/20/1944 66 Proceedings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington _19 __ December 20, 1944 The Commission met in regular session at. 10:00 A. M. and was called to order by Mayor Robinson. Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Robinson, Commissioners Beam and Masters, Attorney Johnston and Clerk Hawkins. Ur.der the head of new business: The minutes of the previous seesion were read and approved. The matter of the spons9Tship of two bills proposed by the Association of Washington Cities to go before the 1945 Legislature; One being a bill to make available to cities and towns of the State a sound retirement plan for muncipal employees; And the other being a 6ivil Service Enabling Act to authorize ci tias other than those not having authority to establish their own merit, or Civil Service Systems, on a home-rule basis, was then taken up for consideration. It was moved by Mayor Robinson that the City Commiasion favor the spons~ship of the two bills above referred to. Seconded by Commissioner Beam. On roll call members voted Aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
