"It being necessary to tabulate and cheek, it was moved by Commissioner Taylor that all bids be referred to I
the Engineer end Water 'Supt., a"ard to be announced at the next session. Motion seconded by Commissioner
Robinson. All voted Aye. Uotion carried.
IPursuant to bids published for the sale of lots 10 and 11, in Bleck 284, Tovrnsite, the following two bids :
were received: DelGuzzi Brothers, $320.00; Dan Kettle, $211.00. It was moved by Commissioner Robinson that
Ithe bid by DelGuzzi Bros. be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Taylor. i,ll voted Aye. I..:otion carried. !

Under the head of new .ousiness, a letter from Fire Chief WOlverton requesting an emergency be declared in
Ihis department in the amount of $2,090.00, was read before the Commission. After discussion and consideration
:by the Commission, the request was tabled until the next session.

'ci ting advantagee if change is made. It was moved by Commissione" Taylor that the Attorney be instructed
,to draw an Ordinance setting the meeting day as Monday. Motion seconded br Commissioner Hobinson. All

,Mrs. Haugland appeared before the Commission regarding employment o~ men on welra:-e department rolls to WOrk!
,on Oity projects during winter months when unemployment rolls are h:l.ghest. The Olty would be requlred to
furnish supervision, Industrial Insurance and liledical Aid, transportation, and clothing. Commissioner
"Taylor agreed to make survey~, but nothing was definite as to volume required.

"'arl Davidson informed that his department needs a truck to replace one Vlhich is
obsolete. It Vias moved by Ilayor Feeley that bids be published for a truck
equipped with Uar .Iood Packer body or equal, bids to be opened January 4th.
Motion seconded by Commissioner Taylor. All voted hye. Motion carried.
Under the head of introduction and reading of Ordinances, the following were
introduced:

ORDINANCE NO. 1:<17
,AN ORDlNAllOE regulating the use of parking meter poles, pipes or standards, and appliances placed and
existing on and along curbs of streets and public places for signs and advertising purposes; providing for
a license for such, and fees and considerations to be paid therefore, and grantilJg to the Meter Advertising
Corporation, a \lashington corporation, a franchise to use the parking meter poles, pipes and standards, or
'any part thereof, on each and every parkin& meter within the Oity limits of the City of Port Angeles, Wash-
'ing'ton, for the purpose of attaching thereto a sign or signs for advertising purposea and for the
"reg)1la tion of traffic as by said Cito' designated.
It was moved by Commissioner Robinson that the foregoing Ordinance be placed on first and second reading
with provision that requirement of bond be incorporated, and that the 00mpany file Wi1l1 the City a copy
I,of Insurance Policy, protecting the Oity against personal and property damage. !Iotion seconded by
Mayor l>'eeley. On roll call Mayor .'seley and Commissioller hobinson voted Aye. Commissioner Taylor voted
