Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Beetle, Commissioner Beam, Attorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkir1s. The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following were granted: Paul W. Blatter, Build House, 1'ax No. 506 in Suburban Lot 10 Paul T. Poulsen, Remodel House, Lot 20, Block 16~, Towr~ite $2,500.00 1,000.00 Under the head of Introduction of Ordinances the following ordinance was introduced, read in full and placed on the first and second readings: ! AN ORDINM~CE setting forth an emergen~' affecting the public health and safety; requ~r~ expenditures unforeseen; providing for the issuance of emergency warrants; and declaring an emergency making the ordi- nance immediately effective. .Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolutions were introduced: RESOLlJTION FOR TRAI;SFER OF ITEflS WITHIN FUNDS ~~EREAS IT APPEARS, That requirements of certain departments for the year 1940, made necessary the expendi- ture of sums of money greater than contemplated, and WHEREAS, The amounts provided fer other items ,rithin the same legal classification have not been exhausted and portions of the said sums can be transferred within the same legal classifications, and WHEREAS, Those requirements could not have been reasonably foreseen at t."e tiHie of preparation of the budget, NOW, J'HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the followL-,g transfers of funds be made, to-wit: CURRENT EXPENSE FUND Clerk From P~blications To Office Records & Supplies $ 75.00 Attorney From Court Expense To Traveling Expense 15.00 Eiscellaneous From W.P.A. The Mayor declared the motion carried. RESOLUTION TO SET~ PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY FORECLOSURE WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described property L, the City of Port Angele S J to-wi t: Lot Fifteen (15), Block One Hundred One (101) J Townsi te of Port Angeles, Washington, which said property has l:>een acquired by the City on foreclosure of delinquent local improvement assess- ments under Chapter 205 of the Session Laws of 1927, and ~r,;EREAS, George S. Palmer and Lena l!.ae Palmer, husband and wife, have offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port Angeles for the sum of $150.00, payable as follows: $15.00 as a down paymeut and $10.00 on or before the 20th day of January, 1940, and ~10.00 on or ~efore the 20th day of each end every month'thereafter until paid in full. Interest to be cOr.lputed at the rate of 7% per annum on the balance due and paid with the monthly installment, and VlliEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the op~n~on that the offer is fair value and ~s in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.l.D. assessuents, including interest and other charges against the saIne. N~V, T~REFORE, BE IT~ESOLVED, That the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said George S. Palmer and Lena Mae PaL~er, husband and Wife, for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney l:>e instructed to prepare a deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and the City Treasurer be authorized to execute the said deed in accordance with the provisions of this resolution and Chapter 275, I Session Laws of 1927, when the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full. It was moved by Conm:issioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Mayor Beetle. On roll call all members voted aye. The ~~yor declared the motion carried.
