The agenda should be arranged to best serve the needs and/or convenience of the Council and the public. The items of business for regular Council meetings may include the following: A. CALL TO ORDER - Regular Meeting (6:00 p.m.) – 6:02 p.m. by Deputy Mayor Williams B.ROLL CALL – All present (Councilmember Munro arrived at 6:03 p.m.) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Led by Councilmember Braun PUBLIC CEREMONIES/PRESENTATIONS 1. Proclamation in recognition of World Kidney B-1 1. Presented proclamation to Kathy Lilienthal, Day Nurse Manager, Port Angeles Kidney Center 2. Proclamation in recognition of Colon Cancer B-3 2. (1) LATE ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON THIS OR FUTURE AGENDAS as determined by City Manager or Council member – Deputy Mayor Williams noted distribution of replacement minutes for Council meeting of February 21, 2007, reflecting change in language on vote for NPDES Phase II Stormwater Permit requirements. There were no late items added to the agenda. (2) PUBLIC COMMENT This is an opportunity for members of the public to speak to the City Council about anything. To allow time for the Council to complete its legislative agenda, comments should be limited to no more than 5 minutes per person and a total of 15 minutes for this comment period. (These time periods may be lengthened or shortened at the discretion of the Mayor.) – County Commissioner Mike Doherty distributed copies of The Great Washington State Birding Trail – Olympic Loop as prepared by Audubon Washington. O.ADJOURNMENT – 7:49 p.m. PUBLIC HEARINGS Public hearings are set by the City Council in order to meet legal requirements pertaining to matters such as land use permit applications, proposed amendments to City land use regulations, zoning changes, and annexations. In addition, the City Council may set a public hearing in order to receive public input prior to making decisions which impact the citizens. Certain matters may be controversial, and the City Council may choose to seek public opinion through the public hearing process.
