Public hearings are set by the City Council in order to meet legal .requirements pertaining to matters such as, land use perm t:applicat OhS, proposed
amendments to City and use regulations, Z°n ng changeSi an~exations. In ad~lition: th~ City Counc may set a public heating r~ order to rece ve
public inpu~ prior to making decisions which impact the citizens. Certain matters may be controversial, and the City Council may choose to seek
public opinion through the public hearing process.
