CALL TO ORDER – REGULAR MEETING AT 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. B.ROLL CALL – All present. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Led by Councilmember Kidd. CEREMONIAL MATTERS, PROCLAMATIONS & EMPLOYEE RECOGNITIONS 1. Presented proclamation to Soroptimists Lori Oakes and Joanie Oakes 1. “Pink Up Port Angeles” Week B-1 2. Recognized Corey Delikat - Parks & Recreation Superintendent – for 2. Employee Recognition ---- completion of BA degree at Peninsula College PUBLIC COMMENT – Steve Trubow, 55 Seagull Dr., spoke against the current policy regarding Port Angeles Harborworks, urging Council to take back control, and stated that he believed the downtown was in crisis. Vicki Rudin, 1002 Strait View Dr., th spoke regarding upcoming events at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center. Dennis Duncan, 312 E. 10 St., spoke regarding his belief that the City is in trouble financially and asked Council to look forward for solutions. Norma Turner, 3928 Mt. Angeles Rd., spoke regarding her opposition to various expenditures at Port Angeles HarborWorks. C. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS – Councilmember Nelson spoke regarding her attendance at the public works facilities tour th and the 10 future builders house celebration. Councilmember Mania spoke regarding his attendance at the public works facilities tour, UAC meeting, SMP/HRMP public meeting, and the Olympic Environmental Council meeting. He reminded everyone that tomorrow is the start of the Wednesday Farmers’ market. Councilmember Downie spoke regarding his attendance at the William Shore Memorial Pool District meeting, the Regional Transportation meeting in Port Townsend, and the Council table at the Saturday Farmers’ market. Deputy Mayor Perry spoke regarding his attendance at the Real Estate Committee meeting, Parks and Recreation meeting, and the success of the North Olympic Discovery Marathon. Councilmember Collins spoke regarding his attendance at the Feiro Marine Life Center retreat and fundraiser, and the Parks and Oversight Committee meeting. Councilmember Kidd spoke regarding her attendance at the SMP/HRMP public meeting and the Council table at the Saturday Farmers’ market. Mayor Di Guilio spoke regarding his attendance at the Relay for the Cure opening ceremonies and the Olympic Regional Clean Air Agency meeting. D. WORK SESSION 1. Harbor-Works Development Authority Update ---- 1. Jim Hallett, Boardmember and Jeff Lincoln, Executive Director provided 2. Off Leash Dog Park Presentation D-1 update. 3. Jon Schallert Seminar – Summary ---- 2. Presented by Rotary Clubs of Port Angeles, Council agreed by consensus that Lincoln 4. 2011 Budget Process ---- Park was an acceptable location for the park. 3. Port Angeles Business Association - Barb Frederick, Executive Director provided update on the Seminar’s success. 4. Presented by Director Ziomkowski, and Council agreed by consensus to move forward with a public survey. Finance Monthly Budget Newsletter – May 2010 M-1 Coffee, and the Work session schedule for 2. Planning Commission Minutes for May 26, 2010 M-3 June 29, 2010. Council agreed to start the 3. Community & Economic Development - Building Permit Report M-7 work session on June 29, 2010 at 5 p.m. 4. PA Forward – May 2010 Minutes M-8 N. EXECUTIVE SESSION - Council adjourned to Executive Session for approximately 20 minutes under the authority of RCW 42.30.110(1)(b), regarding the acquisition of real estate; and RCW 42.30.110(1)(i), to discuss potential litigation with legal counsel at 9:35 p.m. Council returned to Open Session at 9:55 p.m. No action was taken.
