CALL TO ORDER – REGULAR MEETING AT 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. B.ROLL CALL – All present, except Councilmember Collins who attended via speakerphone PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Led by Mayor Di Guilio. CEREMONIAL MATTERS, PROCLAMATIONS & EMPLOYEE RECOGNITIONS 1. GFOA Budget Award --- 1. Presented to Finance Director Ziomkowski 2. Public Safety Awareness Week B-1 2. Presented by Mayor Di Guilio, Chief McKeen, Chief Gallagher, and Clallam County Sheriff Benedict PUBLIC COMMENT – John Wright, spoke regarding permitting issues he was having with the City regarding the building of his house on Caroline Street, and passed out information to Council regarding the situation. Lois Danks, spoke against the U.S. Border Patrol office expansion. Jim Hallett spoke regarding the Resolution to dissolve HarborWorks. Bob McGonigell, spoke in favor of the U.S. Border Patrol office expansion. C. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS – Councilmember Kidd spoke regarding the successful fundraising efforts to open the Hurricane Ridge Road seven days a week during the winter months, and asked that Council pass Resolutions thanking Congressman Norm Dicks and Department of the Interior Comptroller Bruce Schaefer. INFORMATION Manager Myers spoke regarding last weeks Department of Commerce meeting, the City Manager Reports: upcoming presentation from Bill Grimes of 1. Finance Monthly Newsletter – July 2010 M-1 Studio Cascade regarding the Waterfront and 2. Public Works Contract Status Report – September 2010 M-3 Transportation Design project at next 3. Public Works Grants & Loans Status Report – September 2010 M-4 Monday’s Chamber luncheon, the upcoming John Schallert webinar, and the Shoreline Master Program update on September 14 at the Vern Burton Center. N. EXECUTIVE SESSION - None. O.ADJOURNMENT - 9:35 p.m. PUBLIC HEARINGS Public hearings are set by the City Council in order to meet legal requirements. In addition, the City Council may set a public hearing in order to receive public input prior to making decisions which impact the citizens. Certain matters may be controversial, and the City Council may choose to seek public opinion through the public hearing process.
