This is an opportunity for members of the public to speak to the City Council about
anything. To allow time for the Council to complete its legislative agenda, comments should be limited to no more than
5 minutes per person and a total of 15 minutes for this comment period. (These time periods may be lengthened or
shortened at the discretion of the Mayor.) Peter Ripley with status report on Disability Assistance Program and message
urging public awareness re. safety of disabled in crosswalks; Paul Lamoureux with expression of appreciation for grace
period related to solid waste collection changes and request for a one-month grace period

N. EXECUTIVE SESSION
(As needed and determined by City Attorney) 7:55 p.m. under authority of RCW
42.30.110(1)(i), two items of potential litigation for approximately 30 minutes with action probable but not
certain – Returned to Open Session at 8:30 p.m. – reviewed Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe’s request for meeting
with City Council re. amendments to August 14, 2006, settlement agreement – directed staff to inform Tribe
that Council will not consider amendments but will remain open to discuss future projects and other concerns
at any time.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
Public hearings are set by the City Council in order to meet legal requirements pertaining to matters such as land use permit
applications, proposed amendments to City land use regulations, zoning changes, and annexations. In addition, the City Council
may set a public hearing in order to receive public input prior to making decisions which impact the citizens. Certain matters may
be controversial, and the City Council may choose to seek public opinion through the public hearing process.
