Resolution to Oppose State Initiative 1033 AGENDA CITY COUNCIL MEETING 321 East 5 Street October 20, 2009 REGULAR MEETING - 6:00 p.m. ACTION TAKEN Note: The Mavor may determine the order of business for a particular City Council meeting. The agenda should be arranged to best serve the needs and or convenience of the Council and the public. The items of business for regular Council meetings may include the following: B. ROLL CALL — All present, Councilmember Williams departed meeting at 8:11 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — Led by Councilmember Rogers, followed by a moment of silence for Mrs. Wyman and Theodin Nelson, mother and son of Brooke and Darrel Nelson, and a woman in Forks, who all passed away last Sunday. PUBLIC CEREMONIES /PRESENTATIONS & EMPLOYEE RECOGNITIONS 1. 2009 Exceptional Caregiver's Award Proclamation B -1 1. Presented Proclamation to Susan Lynch - Ritchie. PUBLIC COMMENT. This is an opportunity for members of the public to speak to the City Council. To allow time for the Council to complete its legislative agenda, comments should he limited to no more than 5 minutes per person and a total of 15 minutes for this comment period At the discretion of the Mayor, these time periods may he lengthened or shortened. Following any public comment, the Mavor may allow time, limited to five minutes, for response from City Councilmembers and or City Staff. William Kildall started to speak about I -1033 and was informed that Council would be accepting comment later in the meeting. C. CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS — Councilmember Rogers and Mayor Braun attended the AWC Regional Meeting. D. WORK SESSION 1. Harbor Planning Work Session D -1 1. Conducted Work Session. G -1 1. Accepted public comment, and Passed Resolution No. 24 -09 PUBLIC HEARINGS Public hearings are set by the City Council in order to meet legal requirements. In addition, the City Council may set a public hearing in order to receive public input prior to making decisions which impact the citizens. Certain matters may be controversial, and the City Council may choose to seek public opinion through the public hearing process. Approved ACTION TAKEN Manager Myers reported on the monthly financial report for the 3rd quarter, the monthly building M -1 permit activity was positive, and the Clallam M -3 Business Incubator. He addressed a positive email M -11 from the Crab Festival, and next week's budget M -15 session on October 27, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. He also M -17 mentioned that Director West and himself met with M -18 Habitat for Humanity, to address concerns regarding M -37 Maloney Heights. N.
