The agenda should be arranged to best serve the needs and/or convenience of the Council and the public. The items of business for regular Council meetings may include the following: A. Council member (2) PUBLIC COMMENT This is an opportunity for members of the public to speak to the City Council about anything. To allow time for the Council to complete its legislative agenda, comments should be limited to no more than 5 minutes per person and a total of 15 minutes for this comment period. (These time periods may be lengthened or shortened at the discretion of the Mayor.) Cherie Kidd thanked the Fire Department and Paramedics for their quick response and compassion during her mother’s recent medical emergency. Veronica Flake expressed concern over the increase to water rates and asked if it was due to fluoridation expenses. Lori Lynn Gray requested supplemental funding for the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club bus. Rev. Lynn Lohr spoke in opposition to water fluoridation. David Michelson inquired into the costs of equipping an officer. Paul Lamoureux inquired about City logos on garbage trucks and the surplusing of timber at landfill. E. EXECUTIVE SESSION (As needed and determined by City Attorney) O.ADJOURNMENT 8:26 p.m. PUBLIC HEARINGS Public hearings are set by the City Council in order to meet legal requirements pertaining to matters such as land use permit applications, proposed amendments to City land use regulations, zoning changes, and annexations. In addition, the City Council may set a public hearing in order to receive public input prior to making decisions which impact the citizens. Certain matters may be controversial, and the City Council may choose to seek public opinion through the public hearing process.
