TO:
City Manager, Mayor and City Council
FROM:
Don Frizzell, Director of Parks & Recreation
SUBJECT:
Resolution establishing user fees at William Shore
Memorial Pool for 1983
By way of refreshing the Council's memory, the City Manager's December 7, 1982
memorandum to the Council providing the 1983 Budget Summary pointed out that if
the Council approved the budget as presented, and, if the Council desired to
maintain the pool at a 50% tax-SOt revenue subsidy formula, it would be necess-
ary not to roll back the pool fees as charged during the last quarter of 1982.
In the event the Council should desire to roll back the fees, the pool operation
would revert to a 25% revenue-7S% tax subsidy. Simply stated, if the Council
should roll back the fees, we will fall short of the formula by 25% tax subsidy.
This matter came before the Park Commission during its December 2, 1982 meeting
and an unanimous vote recommending the fees remain at the current level for the
balance of 1983 is recommended. We bring this to your attention as the September'
18, 1982 resolution increasing the fees by 25% sunsets December 31, .1982 and with-
out Council action, the fees automatically revert back to the lesser fee rate.
For your review and considera~ion, attached hereto please find the appropriate
fee establishing resolution which would set the 1983 pool fees.
Should you need additional information, please inquire.
