RESOLUTION NO. 3-~'l
A RESOLUTION IN MEMORIUM
Today this cOlJlJJlunity knows the meaning of the phrase ITno man is
an island unto himselfll. Six weeks ago three Americans flew around the
moon and returned safely, and yet yesterday seven members of this com-
munity and three visitors to this cOlJlJJlunity had their brief flight into
the skys end in flaming tragedy and death. All of us in this small com-
munity identify at this sad time with the families of those who died.
Truly, the ways of our Lord are mysterious.
It is fitting at this time that this Council go on record as ex- ,
pressing the deep sympathy of its members for all of those who knew and
loved those who died. It is equally fitting that we QXpV~~a recognize
the service that the Angeles Flying Service has in the past rendered and
will in the future continue to render to the Port Angeles area.
THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Council of the City of Port
Angeles go on record as expressing its shock at this tragic accident
and its deep felt sorrow over the deaths which occurred in this City as
its result.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles and ap-
proved by its Mayor at a regular meeting of the Council held on the 6th
I' day of February, 1969.
