MEMORANDUM
To:
City Manager/City
(FASP Project)
From:
Public Works Department
Subject: 8th Street Bridge Haza d
The Public Works Department has been working with the Washington
State Department of Transportation for approximately one year to develop a
project to eliminate the hazards at the 8th Street bridges. The high hazard
areas are the approaches to the bridges on 8th Street between Cherry and "A"
Streets and the 8th Street bridge piers on the Tumwater Truck Route.
The State has agreed that the best method for financing this
project is through the FASP funding program. _
I
In order to achieve that funding, it is necessary for the City to
execute a City/County Agreement with the Department of Transportation. The
total project involves $53,300 of which City funds are $5,330.
A resolution will be provided at the City Council meeting which,
if approved, will authorize the Mayor to execute the City and County
Agreement and proceed with the project.
