RESOLUTION NO. 8~Ol
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Port Angeles,
Washington, designating Valley Freightliner Inc./N orthwest
Manufacturing & Distribution Inc. as the sole source for acquisition of
an asphalt patch truck and declaring an exception to normal bidding
requirements.
WHEREAS, the Street Division of the City's Public Works and Utilities Department
needs to replace its asphalt patch truck; and
WHEREAS, after a formal bidding process resulted in no responsive bids, the Public
Works and Utilities Department has contacted all of the vendors who handle asphalt patch trucks,
and has determined that Valley Freightliner Inc./ Northwest Manufacturing & Distribution Inc. is
the only source that has an asphalt patch truck that meets the City's specifications; and
WHEREAS, going out to bid for an asphalt patch truck that meets the City's
specifications would result in Valley Freightliner Inc./Northwest Manufacturing & Distribution Inc.
being the only bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Angeles as follows:
Section 1. Valley Freightliner Inc./Northwest Manufacturing & Distribution Inc. is
designated the "sole source" supplier for replacement of an asphalt patch truck for the City's Public
Works and Utilities Department.

Section 2. An exception from normal bidding requirements is hereby implemented,
under which acquisition of a replacement asphalt patch truck need not be competitively bid.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles at a regular meeting of said
ouncil held on the 1st day of May, 2001.
