RESOLUTION NO. <j -1&
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Port Angeles creating an Administrative
Services Department by combining several
existing departments.
WHEREAS, the City is constantly striving to develop ways
and means of carrying out the City's affairs in a more efficient
and economical fashion, and
WHEREAS, the City Council under the authority of RCW 35A.
12.090 may create such departments, offices and employments as it
may find necessary and may determine the powers and duties of
each department or office;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Port Angeles that there is created a Department of
Administrative Services under the direction of a Director of
Finance, said department having the following enumerated duties
and responsibilities:
1. Finance: Billing, collections, accounting, data pro-
cessing, systems an~lysis and related activities including all of
those prescribed by law.
2. City Clerk: Recording and
transcription of City Counci II

3. Equipment Rental: Operation of central. garage,
establishment of equipment rates, accounting for funds and all
other activities relating to equipment and the rental thereof
prescribed by law.
4. Personnel: Maintenance of personnel records, recruit-
ment and selection of employees, processing of new employees,

assist City Manager in labor relations and all other activities
relating to personnel prescribed by law.
5. Municipal Court Clerical Support: Insure Municipal
Court has adequate clerical support to meet needs and requirements
and to furnish day to day supervision of court personnel, other
than the judge.
6. Purchasing: Develop and maintain a supply catalog,
operate stores supply for items used by all departments, compare
lists with state bid lists and all other activities relating to
City purchasing prescribed by law.
7. Additional duties may be prescribed from time to time
by the City Councilor City Manager for the Department of
Administrative Services and the divisions thereof.
PASSED by the City council of the City of Port Angeles and
approved by its Mayor at a regular meeting of the Council held on
the ~ day of June, 1976.
