HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-73 . . RESOLUTION NO. /(J- 7.3 A RESOLUTION Providing for City-County Planning for a Joint County Courthouse and City Hall. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES, that: WHEREAS, the County Seat of Clallam County, Washington is Port Angeles, a city incorporated under the laws of the State of Washington; and WHEREAS, after due investigation, it appears necessary to the public interest that the City of Port Angeles acquire new facilities for a City Hall and that the County of Clallam acquire a new County Courthouse; and WHEREAS, it would be in the public interest if the ownership, control, and disposition of such County Courthouse and City Hall were divided jointly between the City of Port Angeles and the County of Clallam; Now, Therefore, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City of Port Angeles enter into a contract with the County of Clallam for the construction, ownership, and control of a joint County Courthouse and City Hall upon premises to be i selected by the proper authorities of the City and the County. In addition this letter will be our commitment to purchase warrants related to this District to provide construction funds. Prior to advancing any funds under the above commitment we will require the following: 1. ' That we are provided with a map of the area showing properties affected and assessed values so that we may make our own appraisal of the district. 2. The purpose of the LID estimated assessment against each property and the percentage estimated to be re- ceived in cash. 3. A legal opinion from a qualified municipal bond at- torney in reference to the legality of the bonds, tax exempt status, priority of lien and the Guaranty Fund.
