A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Port AnGeles, WashinGton, authorizing
application for fundinG assistance for an
outdoor recreation project to the InteraGency
Committee for Outdoor Recreation as provided by
the WashinGton Wildlife Recreation ProGram.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port AnGeles has
approved a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan" for the urban
area which identifies enhancements to existinG facilities as a
priority; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the WashinGton Wildlife
Recreation ProGram, state and federal fundinG assistance has been
authorized and made available to aid in financinG the cost of land
for parks and habitat conservation areas and the construction of
outdoor recreational facilities of local public bodies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port AnGeles
considers it in the best public interest to enhance a community
park in the western part of the City Generally located northeast of
Fairchild Airport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Port AnGeles as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor or another individual is authorized
to make formal application to the InteraGency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation for funding assistance.
Section 2. Any fund assistance so received shall be used
for the development and enhancement of Volunteer Park in the City
of Port AnGeles, WashinGton.
Section 3. The City's share of the project will be derived
from donations of cash, labor and materials.
Section 4. The City of Port AnGeles does hereby certify
that the City is responsible to support all non-cash commitments to
the local share should they not materialize.
Section 5. Any facility developed with financial aid
through the InteraGency Committee for Outdoor Recreation shall be

placed in use as an outdoor recreation 'facility or habitat
conservation area and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless
as otherwise provided and agreed to by the City Council, the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, and any affected
federal agency.
Section 6. This Resolution shall become part of a formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
Section 7. Adequate notification has been given, opportu-
nity has been provided for public input, and published notices have
identified affected flood plains and/or wetlands, if applicable.
Section 8. The site plan has been adopted by the local
governing body.
Section 9. The City of Port Angeles does certify that the
City is owner of the land to be developed and based on current
knowledge, provides assurance that there are no encumbrances on the
land which would restrict the recreation or habitat conservation
use of the land as proposed in this application.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles at
a regular meeting of said Council held on the 20th day of June,
1995.
