HomeMy WebLinkAbout14-98 RESOLUTION NO. 14-98 A resolution of the City of Port Angeles expressing the City Council's appreciation for the outstanding efforts and performance of Jack Pittis as Interim City Manager. WHEREAS, former City Manager Jeff Pomeranz resigned effective April 7, 1998, and it was anticipated that a replacement would not be hired for several months; and WHEREAS, it was mandatory for the smooth running of City operations to have a leader at the helm to provide direction and stability during the City Manager search and selection process; and WHEREAS, the former City Manager knew that such a leader could be found in the person of Public Works Director Jack Pittis and therefore recommended that the City Council appoint Jack as Interim City Manager; and WHEREAS, Jack Pittis provided the leadership necessary during a time of change, working many ten and twelve hour days for four months, in order to keep the City striving toward its goals and objectives; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles, that on behalf of the citizens and employees who have benefited from Jack's diligent work above and beyond the call of duty, the City Council hereby expresses its appreciation for the outstanding efforts and performance of Jack Pittis as Interim City Manager.
