The new law goes on to specify that the procedure "may include, but not be limited to, written notification to the City's official newspaper, publication of a notice in the official newspaper, posting of upcoming council meeting agendas, or such other processes as the City determines will satisfy the intent of this requirement." The procedure that the city has followed in the past includes making available copies of the agenda to the news media and publishing notices of public hearings in the official newspaper. The attached resolution has been drafted to formalize the practice already being followed by the City and to comply with the requirements of the new state law.
