HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-07 e RESOLUTION NO. 19-07 A RESOLUTION approving an ad-hoc committee to conduct a Fire Department Consolidation Feasibility Study for the City of Port Angeles and C1allam County Fire District #2. WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles and C1allam County Fire District #2 each fund nd staff their own respective fire department to provide fire suppression, emergency medical ervices, and other specialized services to their jurisdictions; and WHEREAS, both jurisdictions have demonstrated improved efficiencies and an . ncreased level of service through the functional consolidation of volunteer personnel and training rograms; and WHEREAS, each jurisdiction funds a management and support staff to provide the equisite administrative support for their respective fire department; and WHEREAS, these jurisdictions have engaged in discussions relating to the potential pportunity to realize administrative and operational efficiencies by combining all or additional ortions of their fire department functions; and WHEREAS, these jurisdictions now desire to explore this concept more formally by . oint1y forming an ad hoc committee to conduct a consolidation feasibility study; and WHEREAS, the ad hoc committee would include two C1allam County Fire District #2 ommissioners; two City of Port Angeles Council members; one fire chief from each jurisdiction; ne Public Safety Advisory Committee member; two citizen at large members; one Union epresentative; and one Volunteer Advisory Board representative. e -1- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Port Angeles approves and hall participate in an ad hoc committee to conduct a Fire Department Consolidation Feasibility nalysis for the City of Port Angeles and Clallam County Fire District #2 and to report back to the 11 City Council regarding consolidation.
