HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-86 e e RESOLUTION NO. \ q - B(Q A RESOLUTION of the City of Port Angeles authorizing investment of City moneys in the Local Government Investment Pool. WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 294, Laws of 1986, the Local Government Investment Pool in the State Treasury was created for the deposit of money of a political subdivision for the purpose of investment by the State Treasurer; and WHEREAS, the Cityof Port Angeles does hereby find that the deposit and withdrawal of money in the Local Government In- vestment Pool in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter, for the purpose of investment as stated therein, are in the best interests of the City; and WHEREAS, the City Manager, Director of Finance and Ad- ministrative Services, and City Treasurer or designee have been empowered to enter into an agreeme~t effecting investment of City funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Port Angeles does hereby authorize the deposit and withdrawal of City moneys in the Local Government Investment Pool in the State Treasury in accordance with Chapter 294, Laws of 1986, for the purpose of investment as stated herein. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that pursuant to the attached form, the City officers specified therein shall be authorized to order the deposit or withdrawal of money in the Local Govern- ment Investment Pool. Anderson, Acting City Clerk i \ HEHORANDUI1 June 13 I 1986 TO: City Council ~ FROM: Planning De 1 RE: Application t Grant to Construct a Portion of the Haterfront Trail ISSUE: Passage of a Resolution authorizing submittal of a grant application to construct a portion of the Waterfront Trail. BACKGROUND: Attached is a Resolution which authorizes the City to submit a grant application to the Department of Natural Resources for an aquatic land enhancement project to construct the phase of the Waterfront Trail that extends from the City Pier eastward to Francis Street. The maximum allowable application is $75,000 from the Department of Natural Resources. A local match of 25% is required:. that match can be appropriations, bonds, volunteer labor, equipment and material donations, in-kind services, and land donations. The initial application deadline is July 1 st. The selection process then involves an in formal review of the projects by Department of Natural Resources and Interagency Conunittee for Outdoor Recreation staff through the summer and early fall. The community makes a formal presentation which is formally reviewed in October. Final selection of the successful project applicants is made in November. Department of Natural Resources staff work with the community in preparing the application throughout the process. c:. ACTION: The Council could entertain a motion to pass the Resolu- tion authorizing the staff to submit an application. Staff will be available..to respond to questions. PDC:LF e
