RESOLUTION NO.10-"6l.f I A RESOLUTION of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, providing for the submission to the qualified electors of the City at the general election to be held therein on September 18, 1984, of a proposition as to whether or not the City should issue its unlimited tax levy general obligation bonds in the principal sum of $1.325 million in order to provide funds to renovate and remodel the Vern Burton Memorial Community Center as a civic center. WHEREAS, in order to provi de the peopl e of the City of Port Ange 1 es with modern ci vi c and conventi on center facil it i es and to further the public health and welfare of such people, it is deemed necessary and advisable that the City renovate and remodel the Vern Burton Memorial Community as a civic center, and to provide the money therefore that it issue and sell its unlimited tax levy general obligation bonds in the principal sum of $1.325 million; and WHEREAS, the Constitution and Laws of the State of Washington provide that the question of whether such bonds may be issued for such purposes must be submitted to the qualified electors of the City for their ratification or rejection; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES, WASHINGTON, as follows: Sect ion 1. It is hereby found and dec 1 ared that the pub 1 i c hea lth and welfare of the people of the City of Port Ange 1 es requ ire that the City develop a ci vi c center on property now owned by the Ci ty at the Vern Burton Memorial Community Center site. ~ That for the purpose of providing the money necessary to acquire such capital improvements the City shall issue and sell its unlimited tax levy general obligation bonds in the principal sum of $1.325 million. Such bonds shall mature with i n twenty years from the date of issue. Both principal and interest shall be paid out of annual levies of taxes to be made upon a 11 the taxable property with in the City with an approx i mate excess 1 evy of $.30 per one thousand do 11 ars, based on current assessed valuation and twenty-year bond maturity. The exact date, form, terms of maturity of said bonds shall be as hereafter fixed by ordinance of the City. Section 2. It is hereby found and declared that - the following ballot title is apropriate for the purposes of placing the bond issue proposition on the ballot: PROPOSITION Civic Center Development, General Obligation Bonds, $1.325 Million Shall the City of Port Angeles, Washington, for the purpose of providing funds to develop a civic center within the City at the Vern Burton Memorial Community Center site, issue its general obligation bonds in the principal sum of $1.325 million, to mature within twenty years from date of issue, and to be paid, both principal and in- terest, out of annual tax levies to be made upon all of the taxable property within the City with an approximate excess levy of $.30 per one thou- sand dollars, based on current assessed valuation and twenty-year bond maturities? BONDS, YES .....~I BONDS, NO ......1 1 The Clallam County Auditor as ex officio supervisor of elections is hereby requsted to place said proposition on the September 18, 1984, election ballot and to submit to the qualified electors of the City the proposition hereinabove set forth.
