A RESOLUTION of the City of Port Angeles,
Washington, providing for the submission
to the qualified electors of the City at
the November 5, 1985, election of an
advisory proposition as to whether terms
of City Counci1members should be limited
to two or three consecutive terms or
should be unlimited.
WHEREAS, the City Council is considering whether to
limit terms of Councilmembers to two or three consecutive terms
or to continue to have unlimited terms; and
WHEREAS, the question of placing a limitation on
Council terms is appropriate for submission to the voters as an
advisory ballot;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES, WASHINGTON, as follows:
Section 1. It is hereby found and declared that the
following ballot title is appropriate for the purpose of
submitting the question of limiting Council terms to the voters
as an advisory ballot:
ADVISORY PROPOSITION
Limit on City Council Terms
1. Shall there be a limit on the number
of consecutive terms that a City Council-
man of the City of Port Angeles may serve?

Section 2. The Clallam County Auditor, as ex offic~o
supervisor of elections is hereby requested to place said
advisory proposition on the November 5, 1985, election ballot and
