HomeMy WebLinkAbout28-83 RESOLUTION NO. .J~-~3 A RESOLUTION of the City of Port Angeles continuing the implementation of the optional 0.5% additional sales tax beyond December 31, 1983. e WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 2225, the City of Port Angeles has adopted the 0.5 % additional sales tax as authorized by RCW 82.l4.030(2); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 25-82, the City Council implemented said tax and provided for its expiration on December 3l, 1983; and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the economic conditions in Port Angeles and the other factors set forth in Resolution No. 25-82 still require the implementation of the optional 0.5% additional sales tax; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES that the implementation of the optional 0.5% additional sales tax within the City limits of Port Angeles, Washington, shall continue in effect on January l, 1984, and the December 3l, 1983, expiration date in Resolution 25-82 shall hereby be repealed; and Furthermore, BE IT RESOLVED that at least thirty (30) days prior to March 3l, 1984, and thereafter periodically at its option, the City Council will review the continued implementation e of said tax in order that thirty days' notice of any removal or reduction may be given to the Department of Revenue. -1- l PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 6th day of December, 1983. e .'
