RESOLUTION NO. 38- g .2
A RESOLUTION of the City of Port Angeles
establishing procedures for the use of
the City's back-up ambulance under existing
mutual aid agreements, and amending
Resolution 9-82.
WHEREAS, by Resolution 9-82, the City Council
established procedures for use of the City's back-up ambulance;
and
WHEREAS, such Resolution did not permit the ambulance
to be used outside the corporate City limits of the City of Port
Angeles; and
WHEREAS, the City has subsequently executed mutual aid
agreements with adjoining Fire Districts; and
WHEREAS, the ambulance should be available for use
under the terms of those agreements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES as follows:
Section 1. . Section 1 of Resolution 9-82 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
l(a) The Port Angeles Fire Department will respond with
its ambulance to emergency calls for medical assistance
within the City limits of Port Angeles only when
notified by the Port Angeles Consolidated Dispatch
Center that a private ambulance is not available to
respond to a particular emergency call.
lIb) The Port Angeles Fire Department may respond with
its ambulance to emergency calls for medical assistance
without the City limits of Port Angeles, when such
emergency call for medical assistance is made by a Fire
Department with which the City of Port Angeles has in
existence a valid mutual aid agreement. Such request
and the Port Angeles Fire Department's response, will

be handled in accordance with the terms of the mutual
aid agreement.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect upon
adoption.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles
at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 19~day of

RE: Ambulance Resolution
Attached is the Resolution amending the previously-adopted
ambulance resolution, in accordance with Councilman Gerberding's
suggestion at the Council meeting of October 5th that the
ambulance may be used outside the City, when such use is under
the terms of a validly existing mutual aid agreement between the
City and another Fire District.
