Minutes of the regular meeting of the Port Angele s Planning COnL.'11ission
February 5th, 1963.
Members present were Anderson, Driscoll, Hankins, Hunt, McGee, Reiners
and Strange. Also present was City Engineer John Warder.
Minutes of the last two meetings were read and approved.
Members again## looked over the preliminary plat as submitted by Mr.
Douglas Baker and Mr. John U. Wright on a proposed re-plat of the area
in the vicinity of 5th and "N" Streets and as there was no further
informat~on on the subject, t~e matter was tabled for future study~
Next consideration was the application of Mr. L. D. Solomonson for the
vacation of an alley west of Lot 7 in Block 2 of the Bellview Hills
Addition. The Planning Commission had requested "'r. Christman to include
the alley at the time of filing the plat in 1954, the alley being the only
means of ingress and egress to the south. It is the "unanimous recommendation
of the Planning Commission to the City Council that the application be
denied.
The members again looked over the map and petitions for annexation to the
City of the area in the Mount Angeles Road vicinity, south to the Scribner
Road. The matter was again tabled with members agreeing to look over the
area prior to our next meeting.
The application of Edward L. Galerneau for permission to conduct a radio
repair shop in his home at B17 West 13th Street, being Lot 8, Block 372,
was next considered. Mr. Galerneau being present explained his request
stating he would in no way interfere with the public and his small part
time effort to repair radios only (not television) would not be noticed.
Mr. Galerneau is what is known as a ham operator. The Commission set
March 5th as t he date for a hearing on the application.
The Commission next considered the proposed subdivision of suburban Lot-l
Government Townsite, by the Roats Engineering Co. for owners Carl
Konopaski and Fred P. Johnson. The members did not approve the layout as
submitted, the width of streets not meeting the minimum requirements, some
cul de sac alleys etc. The Chairman was instructed to notiry the Engineers
to submit a revised plan for further consideration.
No further business appearing, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
