Minutes of a joint aeeting, March 15th, 1966, of the Port
Ange1el Planning Commission with the Clallam County Planning
Commission. The meeting had been called at the request of
M. G. Poole, Planning Consultant. The subject being the
Coordination of Planned Zoning and Land Use in the are.
adjacent to the City of Port Angele..
The aeet1ng was very well attended, present were all
.embers of the Port Angeles City Council, the City Manager
and members of the City Engineering Department. all the
Clallam County CO..issioners, the County Engineer, MOlt of
the members of the Clallam County Planning Commission and
the City of Port Angeles Planning Co.mission. Also present
was Bert Baron of the Department of Economic Oevelopement
of Washington State.
Mr. Pool. used a iarge colored .ap showing the City
of Port Ange1.s and the surrounding area fro. the Elwha
River on the west to Morse Creet on the east, on which b.
bad platted his proposed various types of zoning fro.

After Mr. Poole had explained his variou. proposall
the ..eting was given over to general discussion and
questions on such aatters as areas of residential lots,
commericial areas etc. The meeting was very informative
and lasted two bours, with several zoning proble.s being
aade aore clear to the various groups. It waa pretty
well agreed by those present that Mr. Pooleat luggestions
could generaLly b. adopted.
A short .eeting of the Port Angel.s Planning
Commission was held to conaider . r.quest of Mr. and Mr..
Ray A. Jacobs asking for the vacations of Lopez Street
between Blocks 11 and 16 in Puget Sound Cooperative Colony
2nd Addition to the City of Port Angeles. In as .uch a,
it 1. the policy of the Planning Commission to OppOI. the
vacation of any streetl or alleys, and further due to the
fact we feel Lopez Stret is non-existent, since the date
of platting and its subsequent non~us. would indicate.
A _otion was passed reeo.mending to the City Council, the
matter be referred to the City Attorney.
