Old Business - none
New Business Three variance requests had been received and pro-
perly posted for hearing at this time.
E.A.Jensen had requested a variance from the city sign regulations
which would permit him to erect a new sign on an existing concrete
base. The base straddles the property line between the street
right-of-way and his property. It was recommended that the request
be approved subject to the city's need for the area in which the
base is located. At such time the owner is to remove said foundation
at his expense.
e
Richard Sharbroich had requested a variance in the set back require-
ments of an RS-7 zone which would permit him to construct a single
family residence and F.lttached carport, to 10 feet from the street
margin. This property is on the northeast corner of 12th and "GI1
Streets. The 25 foot set back can be met ffi ong 12th Street. The
building is 58 feet long and by observing the 7 foot side yard
requirement with the abutting property, there is only 10 feet left
on the side abutting lrGl1 Street. It was recommended that the
variance requestp.d be granted.
Mr and Mrs Richard L. Miller had requested a variance to construct
a single family residence and attached garage closer to the property
line than permitted in an RS-9 zone. The prtmary difficulty in-
volved in this case was the unusual shape of the lot. The 25 foot
front setback can be maintained, but will allow only about 8 feet
of clearance from the other property lines. The property in-
volved lies in the center of !1Pnrk Knollll off the Rhodes Road.
It was reommended that the variance be granted.
The request of Anderson Ford Co. had been received for discussion.
This request was for the vacation of the alley right of way in
Block 16, PSCC Addition on the east side of White's creek between
Front and Georgiana. The request was tabled as there was in-
sufficient information available as b the need for this vacation.
The secretary was directed to contact Anderson Ford and request a
plot plan of their propose9 operation on this property, and the
City Light Department for further information on their service plans
in this area. Other departments that may have an interest are also
to be consulted.
