4It IV PLANNING STUDIES
1. Review of Residential Zoning Districts
Mr. VanHemert presented background material on mobile homes,
conditional uses and front and rear yards in the RS-7 Dis-
trict. The Planning Commission discussed extensively mobile
homes as a permitted use in all residential zones. After
the discussion, it was decided that double-wide mobile homes
meeting the Uniform Building Code and placed on a permanent
foundation should be considered in the revised residential
districts as a permitted use.
The Commission reviewed the present list of conditional uses
in the RS-7 and RS-9 Districts and then to those in other
cities. Those uses which will be conditionally permitted in
the new single-family districts, in addition to those cur-
rently permitted, are agricultural nursery, day-care center,
group home, and private schools. To be further reviewed are
art gallery, museums, day treatment centers, and mobile home
subdivisions. Golf courses are to be deleted from the list
of conditional uses and private stables are to be made
accessory uses.
.
Mr. VanHemert stated that further information will be
forthcoming on front and rear yard dimensions in the RS-7
District.
