Minutes of the regular mooting of the City of Part Angel~s Planning
Commission, June 16th, 1953. '
Members present were Reiners, Lamoureux, Gort, Hampton, McGee, Stewart
and Strange. AlSO present was City Engineer Ahlvers.
Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved.
First order of business was the report of the comm:ttee on petitions
for street improvements in the vicinity of 4th and "AU Streets and also
14th and "AIt Streets. T:-te committoe reconL'llonded that the petition at
4th and tlA" Streets should a.lso include the improvement of "A It Street
from 4th to 5th, but they questionod the feasability of creating such a
sm:il1 district and recommended that a. program b. set up calling for
immediate or cash payment for this job if possible. THey recommended
the approval of the petition at 14th and "A" Streets, out recommended
enlargening the district if possible to inClude the area from 5th Street
to 14th Street and I1A" Street to "A" Street. Both of these recommendation:!!
were approved by tho Commission by unanimous vote.
A general discussion then followed on the preparation of petitions for
improvements of the Cherry Hill area. It was finally agreed and
unanimously passed by the Commission that petitions be prepared calling
for the creation of two districti. One to include the area from 2nd
Street to Lauridson Boulevard and from Peabody Street to the Valley Street
Gulch north of 8th Street and from Lincoln Street to the Valley Str~et
Gulch south of 8th Street. The other petition to include the area from
8th Street to Lauridson Boulevard and from Lincoln Street east to the
Peabody Gulch. Both of these p~titions to include type I-I asphault
pavoment and concrete curbs whoro they are not presently installed as
well as storm water drainage for the entire area.
No further business appearing, meeting was adjournod at 9:30 P.M.
