IV PLANNING STUDIES
1. Adult Residential Care
Mr. Miller provided a brief review of the most recent
information memo. The Commission discussed the multi-family
aspects of adult care facilities; i.e., the increased
density, and the possibility of considering them as rezones
rather than conditional uses. The Commission also discussed
the ability to impose conditions and controls to protect the
single-family residential areas through the Conditional Use
Permit process, as currently proposed in the draft
ordinance.
Following further discussion, Mr. Cornell moved to direct
staff to set a public hearing for the second meeting in
August, and delete references to boarding homes in the draft
legislation, thereby strengthening the emphasis on adult
care facilities. Mr. Leonard seconded the motion, which
passed unanimously.
