Eleanor Priest had requested the vacation of the alley in
Block 186 Townsite. Memos from the various City departments concerned
had been received. None of the departments had any objections to
this vacation except the Light Department. The Light Department had
requested that the east~2'O feet of the alley not be vacated because
of the service lines in there. It was voted to recommend that the
west 220 feet, only, of this alley be vacated.
Anderson Ford Company had requested the vacation of the
alley in Block 16 Puget Sound Cooperative Colony Addition. Memos
from the various departments concerned had been received. None of
the departments had ~ny objections to the vacation as long as all
utility rights easements were reserved. The Light Department
questioned the feasibility of providing future service to the area
north of Front Street and east of Whites Creek Canyon, if this alley
were vacated. The Planning Commission voted to table this request
until plans of the proposed operation are presented and agreement
reached with the Light Department in regards to construction and
maintenance of electric utilities.
