in the First/Front Street commercial corridor.

surround the site.

Washington Administrative Code regarding pre-schools.
Chairman Ross opened the public hearing.
Ida Smith of the pre-school explained that they have provided
fire extinguishers already. Mary Beutler, 121 East 13th,
objected to the conditional use because of the traffic
impacts associated with it and noted that the Church already
takes up most of the on-street parking. Frances Carr, 127
East 13th, also objecting, asked about signs. Pastor Nenow
explained the Church would erect a sign. Mr. Carr explained
the code requirements regarding signs.
Mrs. Smith explained that there would be 15 students and
three adults in the class; most of the parents drop their
children off and leave. Pastor Nenow explained that no
Church activities would occur during school sessions.
Frances Carr noted that there is a traffic problem three to
four times a month. Chairman Ross closed the public
hearing.
Mr. Puckett moved to recommend denial of the Conditional Use
Permit because of the impact upon the neighbors and the lack
of parking. The motion died for lack of a second.
