comparison between nursing home, congregate care facilities
and boarding homes, Chairman Wight closed the pUblic
hearing.
In direct response to a question from the Commission, Ms.
Porter noted that the proposed densities are appropriate for
congregate care facilities in Port Angeles. Larger cities,
such as Seattle and Tacoma could have higher densities.
Mr. Cornell moved to recommend adoption of the proposed
ordinance, with the following change to the requirement for
nursing homes: An increased density of 1,500 square feet of
lot area for each additional patient above four patients be
required, rather than 2,000 square feet. Ms. Davison-Ness
seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
V PLANNING STUDIES

The Commission decided to discuss the issue at the next
long-range Planning commission meeting.
