Minutes of the regular meeting of the Port Angele s Planning Commission
October 1st, 1963.
Members present were Anderson, Hunt, Hankins, McGee and Strange. Also
present were Counc ilmen Thorne, Smith, iVillson and Wolf; City Manager
Herrman, Director of public Works Warder, Ass't City Engineer Wilson,
City Department Heads Reed, Pohl and. Adams. Press representative Langer
also pre sent.
Minutes of the previous ~eeting were read and approved.
First order of business was a hearing on the application for a variance
from the zoning regulations regarding set back on the south half mf
Lots 19 and 20, Block 420. The request being for permission to allow
a set back of 19 feet instead of the usual 25 feet. Messers. Hunt,
Warder and strange reported they had inspected the location and finding
no objection to the application, recommended its approval. After
considerable discussion, a motion was unanimously passed recommending
to the City Council that the application be approved.
Chairman next read a letter from Rev. LaVerne Nelson requesting a 3'e g
variance from the zoning regulation on the East 1/2 of Lot 8, Block ~
for permission to build a patio 16 feet by 20 feet with a covering 0
12 feet by fourteen feet. The proposed patio to be located within two
feet of the lot line and approximately in the center North and South.
Hearing on application was set for Uctober 15th.
The meeting was then turned over to M. G. Poole, Planning Consultant,
who gave a report on his suggestions on the future planning for our
City. Mr. Poole talked at length and it was decided that he continue
she discussion at our next meeting October 15th. In addition, we are
to try a noon meeting with Mr. Poole on Monday the 14th of October.
No further business appearing, meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
