Dear Mr. Mayor,
I have a special interest in Stephanie Caldwell, who jumped off the bridge just because
we both have the same name. In addition I was truly in the canter of another bridge when
two people jumped over the low rail and was the person reporting them. Consequently I
would like to ask you to please put a simple 6 foot fence on the two bridges on 8"' street.
I can believe that these two bridges simply"call"to people who are mentally unstable. I
feel very sorry for Stephanie's family, and anyone else who takes their own life this way.
In the past I also was advisor to Ronald Reagan on occasion and had spent considerable
time with people like the president of Czechoslovakia and prime ministers of several
other countries, but I am now retired in Port Angeles. I hope that my words here will
help in getting a fence for the bridges, and save a few lives. I feel passionately sorry for
anyone who has to watch a poor misguided person jump off a bridge.
