Sanda Hart, Moxie Boutique
I own Moxie Boutique and have been in business for almost a year and a half.
I've been involved and witnessed thriving downtowns before and I believe our downtown is capable of
that too.We need cooperation, communication and strong leadership to accomplish our goals and make
downtown a true destination shopping district.
Melissa Williams,Feiro Marine Life Center
Melissa Williams is the Executive director of the Feiro Marine life Center, a nonprofit public aquarium
and education facility on the Port Angeles waterfront. Prior to that, she held the positions of progressive
responsibility over seven years at the John G. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, most recently as the Vice
President of Learning, where she managed a team of 35 and a budget of$2.7m.
Joseph Shideler,Angeles Brewing Supplies
Joseph Shideler was born and raised here in Port Angeles. After getting his AA from Peninsula College he
enrolled and graduated from Central Washington University with a BS degree. With another little girl
coming in March of 2015,Joseph is looking to possibly open a second business downtown, and as such is
eager to see downtown thrive.
Hayley Croxford, MOSS
My name is Hayley Croxford and I am the co-owner of Moss,a concept store in the heart of downtown
Port Angeles that we opened 2 years ago this December. I was born here, raised here, graduated school
here and went on to live and work in cities, big and small, up and down the West Coast.
My hopes of joining the PADA Board come with the reward of giving our beautiful hometown the love
and notoriety it deserves and giving our residents and tourists a positive, memorable downtown
experience, which will in turn fill all of our storefronts with bustling businesses that make up a shopping
and dining destination.
Angela J Oppelt,Next Door Gastropub
I am a Port Angeles native, born and raised by father and mother who are also both Port Angeles
natives. I have been in business with my brother for just over 3 years in downtown. In addition to
owning and operating the Next Door gastropub we've again invested in downtown by opening up a little
retail extension of the pub called The Annex. Downtown has the potential to thrive instead of wilt and
deserves the chance to once again be inviting and encouraging to new customers as well as merchants.
With my energy, enthusiasm and reasonable experience in operating and marketing a successful
business downtown, I feel I could be instrumental in facilitating CHANGE!
Beau Richards, Brocante
Beau is the manager of`Brocante" a vintage goods and antique mall in downtown Port Angeles. I think
things could be very different downtown. Many businesses are still operating the way did before the
economic downturn. I can help with that. Beau was instrumental in the revitalization of downtown San
Pedro with event programming that included major film and art festivals.Things have to happen for
people to want to come downtown. I can help make those things happen.
Merala Heins, InSpired!
I have lived in Port Angeles since 1995 and have seen the downtown economy thriving and over time
take a downturn in terms of retail business. I believe that we can revitalize our downtown through
introducing new energy and new ideas and I would like to be a positive participant in this revitalization
process. I believe that by working on creating more energized "event-driven" experiences we will be
giving our local and regional customers (as well as tourists) more reasons to spend time in our beautiful
downtown, enjoying our fine restaurants and retail stores as well.
Jacob Oppelt,The Annex
Born, raised and invested here in Port Angeles. I am currently partners in three downtown businesses;
Next Door Gastropub, Moss, and The Next Door Annex.
Randolf Foster, Randolf Frederick Co.
In General, I have worked retail in Port Angeles since 1992. 1 have worked in businesses downtown and
near downtown. Since that time I have observed a lot of what happens. Every Port Angeles family
owned business that I have worked for has closed. I have watched downtown. This trend needs to stop. I
believe "if you do good, we do good". We worked by this in the working studio at the Landing. It works,
Success by elimination of competition does not work. Downtown has to become more business friendly.
PADA needs to become something people want to join, not HAVE to.
Tracie Hedin,Alley Cat Boutique
Tracie is a lifelong resident of Port Angeles and is the owner of Alley Cat Boutique.
