RE: 2014 Annual Report
Enclosed is WFPA's 2014 Annual Repoli which recaps this year's challenges and accomplishments.
WFPA appreciates the broader community which values the economic, social and environmental
contributions made by private forest landowners.
The timber industry is an important legacy industry. It plays a major role in the state's economy
today, as the third largest manufacturing sector, behind transportation(primarily Boeing)and
petroleum, with 2013 gross business revenues of more than$19 billion. The timber industry will
continue to be an important part of the future, producing renewable wood, energy and paper products
and offering solutions to contemporary issues, such as the need for clean air, clean water, wildlife
habitat and open space.
WFPA's 2014 achievements are outlined in the Annual Repoli, but you can also find more
information and resources on the www.wjja.or website, with links to our annual meeting videos
which took place November 6,2014. Also, please check out the Washington's Working Forest map
at http://data.workingforesls.o ,which displays the economic contribution of the timber industry on
a county-by-county basis. We hope you will find these resources useful.
We're managing private forests so thcy work for all of us. CR,
